Here is my Story

From a young age, athletics have been a core part of my life. I grew up as a swimmer turned runner, and even got to run collegiately. I was constantly chasing goals and pushing her limits. Everything changed when I began developing symptoms of POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) during my junior year of college. Simple things like standing became impossible, and I suddenly found myself searching for answers that nobody seemed to have.
With very little guidance or medical support, I began a long process of trial and error. I was researching, testing, and documenting everything I could to understand what my body needed to get stronger. Drawing on my background in science, where I earned her B.A. in Biology from The College of Wooster, I dove deep into understanding the physiology behind my symptoms and what could help improve them. Along the way, I started sharing my story on social media, hoping to raise awareness and help others who were feeling the same frustration and isolation she once did.
Through determination and patience, I found a way forward. I rebuilt my strength, learned how to manage my condition, and eventually took a leap of faith, when I signed up for an IRONMAN. That decision completely changed my life. Not only did I finish the race, but I went on to qualify for and compete in the IRONMAN World Championships, where I was later invited to be a panelist, sharing my story to raise awareness for POTS on a global stage.
That experience inspired me to turn her personal journey into a mission. To make sure other athletes never have to navigate this alone. I founded Embrace It, a consulting and rehabilitation focused training service dedicated to helping athletes living with POTS and other forms of Dysautonomia. Through Embrace It, we work with athletes, coaches, and universities to bridge the gap between health and performance. We offer guidance on treatment, communication, and balance so athletes can continue doing what they love safely and confidently.
My journey has taught me that with the right knowledge, mindset, and support, it’s possible to turn setbacks into comebacks. And that’s exactly what we hope to help others do!
